What is not to like about the combination of warm chocolate, toasty pecans and tasty bourbon. This is my all time favorite pie!
Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Ingredients
1 recipe for a 9" pie crust (see my Fanny Farmer Pie Crust Blog Post)
4 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup, (Kayro)
6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3 Tbsp bourbon
1 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans, and a handful of pecan halve to place on top.
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Place the oven rack on the lowest position and preheat the oven to 350.
Fit the pie crust into a 9" pie plate, fold edges under and crimp.
Whisk together egg and next 7 ingredients until mixture is smooth.
Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
Pour into the piecrust.
Use the handful of pecan halves to place a nice design of pecans on top.
Bake on the lowest oven rack at 350 for 1 hour or until set.
