Southern Baked Beans
These baked beans are so good and easy. I used to add the bacon and brown sugar myself but decided to make it easier by using Bush's Baked Beans and then adding the rest of the ingredients. I serve them with fried chicken or pulled pork dinners.
Southern Baked Beans
Ingredients
1 16 oz can Bush's Original Baked Beans seasoned with Bacon & Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup chopped green pepper
Directions
Preheat to 350°F.
Pour the beans into a 13 x 9 baking pan.
Stir the Worcestershire Sauce and mustard into the beans.
Stir the chopped onions and green pepper into the beans.
Bake the beans for about 40 minutes.
Notes: I usually eyeball the ingredients, sprinkle the Worcestershire Sauce across the top of the beans, then squirt the yellow mustard across the top and stir them in. Then I add the chopped onion and green pepper again adding as much or a little as I like. This way I can also make a small serving of beans using the 8 ounce can of Bush's beans.
